Reade Bush

Reade is a practicing emergency room Physician Assistant with the George Washington University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center. He has also been the Assistant Medical Director at Europ Assistance USA / Generali Global Assistance for the past eight years. In this capacity, he reviews medical reports on thousands of patients each year who get sick or injured while traveling and coordinates their care and repatriation with the treating doctors. Reade has also conducted audits of hospitals in other countries. He previously served as a medical escort.

Reade has vast experience in emergency management and disaster response. He started his medical career in 1989 as a volunteer firefighter/EMT while attending the College of William and Mary. Over the next 15 years, he rose through the ranks to become a volunteer fire chief in Arlington, Virginia. During this time, he worked as a consultant to the U.S. Fire Administration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and local governments on emergency and disaster response. He also served on a Federal chemical/biological response team for the Washington, DC region.

For the past eight years, Reade has worked on teams that provide medical triaging and patient care for large-scale events in Washington, D.C. He has responded to numerous small and large-scale fire and emergency incidents, including the September 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon. Reade is a native English speaker with moderate proficiency in Spanish.
